AP JCJ Syllabus 2026: Official Civil Judge (Junior Division) Exam Pattern and Subjects

This is the official AP JCJ Syllabus 2026 for Civil Judge (Junior Division). It is taken from Schedule-A of the Andhra Pradesh State Judicial (Service and Cadre) Rules, 2026, notified by G.O.Ms.No.57 dated 16.07.2026. Exam pattern (Screening + three written papers + viva)
Screening test: used to shortlist for mains (ratio and qualifying mark as per the Rules / notification).
Paper-I Civil Laws — 100 marks, 3 hours.
Paper-II Criminal Laws — 100 marks, 3 hours.
Paper-III English (Translation and Essay Writing) — 100 marks, 3 hours, qualifying only. Marks in Paper-III are not added to the merit total.
Viva-voce follows the written exam for candidates who clear the prescribed cut-offs.

What changed in the 2026 syllabus
The 2026 Rules keep the old central codes on the paper and add the 2023 Sanhitas. You cannot drop IPC, CrPC or the Evidence Act, and you cannot ignore BNS, BNSS or BSA. State extras that now sit in Schedule-A criminal include FSSA 2006, the IT Act 2000, POCSO 2012 and the A.P. Forest Act 1967. Civil adds BSA beside the Evidence Act, plus the A.P. Land Encroachment Act, 1905.
